Mr. Suraj's Personal Journey
I am Mr. Suraj, and I'd like to share my story to explain why we started TutorZip. I completed my master's degree from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore between 2016 and 2018. Even though I was a bright and intelligent student, I found myself stuck on some technical concepts during my courses. Professors and TAs were often too busy to provide the assistance I needed. My friends and I would hold group discussions to try and solve our problems, but we didn't always have the expertise to find the solutions.
When I began working on my master's thesis related to RFIC and digital systems, I was overwhelmed by the planning, structure, direction, and writing involved. Despite seeking help from professors, TAs, and lab mates, I couldn't find the solutions I needed or understand the software tools and results fully. That's when I reached out to a private consultant with significant industry experience. A one-hour brainstorming session with him unblocked two weeks' worth of work for me. I continued to consult him for my doubts, and this support was incredibly helpful
Later, during my corporate career at Qualcomm India Private Limited, I continued learning new simulation tools and subjects related to my technical interests. I tried to connect with private consultants but found it challenging to locate them near my city. Searching online, I faced issues like exaggerated profiles, overpromising with underdelivery, demands for advance payments, and fake reviews. This made it difficult to find trustworthy experts.
Later, during my corporate career at Qualcomm India Private Limited, I continued learning new simulation tools and subjects related to my technical interests. I tried to connect with private consultants but found it challenging to locate them near my city. The Birth of TutorZip
We began as a group of teachers offering one-on-one tutoring. Students started joining us, and even industry professionals sought our guidance on simulation tools like ANSYS modeling, CFD simulations, and machine learning predictive models. Although my background is in system design electronics, with my colleagues, we were able to support students in various subjects.
I recall a student from a UK-based university during the pandemic who needed thesis guidance in material science. She was struggling, and one of my friends from IIT Madras, who specializes in material science and nanotechnology, helped her through me. Experiences like this showed us the impact we could have. We decided to formalize our efforts and established ourselves under the banner of TutorZip. Our true passion for teaching and sharing knowledge drives us every day.
